Class Comment # 2 , March 14th
In class today, we spoke about Viacoms $1 billion lawsuit against Google over their "YouTube" technology. While searching the net for more information I ran into this page. The writers of this website pose some very good questions that we didn't come up with in class. For example, they see the fight between the two companies as a matter of "who needs who more?" In other words, if Google really needed Viacom's programs to be included in YouTube, they would be more worried about their pending lawsuit. Instead, Google is acting as though they are indestructable. In the writer's eyes, it is apparent that Google is not worried about losing Viacom's support on YouTube because they will still be successful without them.
